Gold trading bot

A MetaTrader 5 bot for a trader who wanted one indicator's signals traded automatically on gold, long and short, on closed candles only. A one-week build became two months of forward testing on a demo account, with the trader watching every trade and asking for changes.

What was built

  • 33 builds in two months, each change argued from the bot's own trade journal: a higher-timeframe filter shipped only after 106 logged trades showed counter-trend entries giving back what with-trend entries made, at the same win rate.
  • Risk rules in the order path: the stop goes on with the opening order and moves to the real fill when price slips, then breakeven, a trailing stop and partial profit-taking; daily-loss and equity-floor halts; a rest after every closed trade; and a restart picks up the open position instead of opening a second one.
  • A Python layer beside it: the indicator ported and tested, a backtester that charges spread, slippage, commission and swap, and a journal analyser behind the weekly performance reports.
  • Telegram alert cards for every entry, stop move, exit and halt; deployment on a Windows VPS on AWS; and a handover package of clean source, user guide, settings sheet and delivery note.
